Sewer camera
and line locating.

The camera sees the joint. The locator says where that joint is under the lawn, and how deep.

Seeing is
not locating.

A camera tells you there is an offset forty feet out. It does not, by itself, tell you which rose bush that is. A sonde in the head transmits. The receiver walks the signal until the indicator peaks, then we paint the spot and note the depth.

You should
watch.

A narration that is only “it’s bad” is not a finding. Material, distance, and whether the rest of the pipe looks like that.

Roots at
a joint.

The video leaves with you. A second opinion should not require a second camera.

03 / The hourWhat actually happens

From the
cleanout out.

A pipe packed with sewage does not televise. We clear enough to pass the head, then film while it is wet but no longer full. The clearing and the picture are different lines on the scope.

Downstream from the cleanout. At the defect we locate with the receiver and mark depth relative to the foundation, the tree, or the sidewalk. A root mass in the yard is not the same project as an offset under a hallway slab.

It will not see through a collapse it cannot pass. It will not price a water leak under a slab. It will not make a tired clay line young. It will stop you from opening the wrong ten feet.
